JOYCE SOUNDS EXPLORING THE NEW FASHION LANGUAGE
“Without music, life would be a mistake.” – Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche
Fashion and music are inseparable. Yet, soundtracking one’s creative process is never easy. It requires self-awareness, reflection and at times, solitude.
For designers, music could inspire a late night studio session, conjure up new ideas in an everyday commute, or offer extra adrenaline at an afterparty. These sounds can inspire game-changing collections. While some are meditative, others thump in the background as models strut down the runway. Here, at JOYCE SOUNDS, we get up close and personal with some of fashion’s most sought-after creative directors. We pick their brains, go through archives, and together, explore the audio narratives that make up their revered ideas.
Debuting this month, the first season reaches out to avant garde designers and icons alike. The series launches with Rick Owens, Thom Browne and Yohji Yamamoto, alongside LVMH Award-winner Marine Serre and Chitose Abe of sacai, just to name a few.
Moving into the season, Y/PROJECT, Ambush, Craig Green and Fear of God join the bill, while designers Melitta Baumeister, Christopher John Rogers and Richard Quinn grace us with themed selects.
Available on joyce.com and major online platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music, JOYCE SOUNDS showcases the musical minds of fashion’s most daring and innovative today.
Stay tuned and stay connected.
