HK-based bamboo craftsman Ting For Chun’s mission is to change tired perceptions of this ancient weaving art. Yiwooo means “Twice”, a nod to the double-woven construction which gives bamboo objects their strength. Ting For Chun creates both artworks and everyday objects in this most tactile of natural forms – inviting us to unplug and reconnect with the simple joy of touch.

Shikainami Basket-Weaving Workshop

Weave a Shikainami basket, whose form reflects a tranquil seascape. Learn Yotsumi Ami – a cross-patterning technique used to produce a beautiful, self-contained form without glue.
Shikainami basket workshop – which reminiscent of a peaceful sea where the world is well settled. It is formed by a bamboo-weaving technique called Yotsume Ami, a cross pattern structure where each side are weaved to each other without using any glue, symboling the intertwined waves. It could be used as a vase, or served as a ceramic carrier for dishes.
