Designer CLARA DAGUIN was born in France and grew up in California’s Silicon Valley. Fittingly, her approach draws from both of these formative contexts: a mix of savoir-faire and technology, embroidery and electronics, the organic and the artificial. She uses fashion as a vector for examining how technology evolves alongside the body, engaging with present circumstances and future realities: digitalization, dematerialization, surveillance. Clara Daguin created her eponymous label in 2016 after her participation in the Hyères International Festival of Fashion. In addition to her own designs, she collaborates with artists, researchers and institutions — Jean-Paul Goude, Hermès, Première Vision, Mines Paris Tech.
Against the backdrop of the industry’s relentless output, Clara Daguin has decided to place the focus of this exhibition on a single garment – the bomber jacket.
Born in Kyoto, ANTOINE KRUK is a multi-faceted Franco-Japanese artist, illustrator, author, artistic director, freelance designer for luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Valentino, Thierry Mugler, but also designer costume for the Paris opera or the Crazy Horse. It’s impossible to put him it in a single box. It’s from these rich collaborations, encounters and travels that, as a keen observer of the times, he draws inspiration for his freehand humor loving drawings. Since 2015 alongside traditional media, he has been interested in shopping bags and their logos as a source of recycling ideas.
For this exhibition, Antoine Kruk mixes drawings, collages, cutouts on shopping bags and reinterpreted brand logos , giving birth to a new message. Joyce bags will not escape this exclusive customization !
