The Row was established in 2006. Named in reverence of London’s Savile Row, the fashion house emulates the bespoke standards of exquisite fabrics, impeccable details, and perfect fits. The Row translates these values to its womenswear and menswear collections. Focusing on exceptional textures and precise tailoring, the house combines a timeless perspective with subtle attitudes which form an irreverent classic signature. The Row’s collections explore the strength of simplistic shapes that speak to discretion and are based on of uncompromising quality.
JOYCE PRESENTS THE ROW FALL WINTER 2018 COLLECTIONS INCLUDING FIRST MENSWEAR COLLECTION – ALONGSIDE THE WORK OF ICONIC ARTIST ISAMU NOGUCHI
Weaving in and out of galvanized metalwork structures of artist Isamu Noguchi, the muted tones and draped construct of The Row’s Fall Winter 2018 Womenswear whispered of calm and quiet after a desert storm. In collaboration with The Noguchi Foundation, the New York presentation of foamy cashmeres and ribbed silk appeared to be set amongst the quiet aftermath of a dreamlike apocalypse.
In this serene setting an entirely new concept is born: exclusive to JOYCE Hong Kong and China, The Row presents their very first Menswear collection.
Co-founders and designers Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen named The Row in reverence to Savile Row and have since drawn inspiration from the iconic London location for bespoke tailoring. Combined with the loose minimalist masculinity of 80s and 90s New York, each piece has been constructed with uncompromising attention to detail and respect for material. The result of years of groundwork, The Row Menswear is a highly considered body of work, intended to form the core foundation of the modern man’s wardrobe.
To mark this milestone event, the JOYCE Beijing store will host a pop-up to house The Row’s Mens and Womens collections under a series of Akari Light Sculptures created from handmade washi paper and bamboo ribbing.
In Hong Kong, the JOYCE New World Tower flagship store dedicates the Queen’s Road window to The Row. Suspended from the monastic high ceilings, a nebula of Isamu Noguchi’s light installations will float above The Row’s seasonal display. Customers are invited to visit the artist’s first installation within a retail environment in Asia, whilst exploring The Row’s new collection from 15thOctober.
