The Limited Edition TURBODRK Chuck 70 Distorts the Ubiquitous

For the first time in its century of existence, Converse, alongside one of fashion’s iconoclast, Rick Owens, launch a new interpretation of the iconic Chuck Taylor silhouette crafted with a square-toe execution.

The TURBODRK Chuck 70 follows Owens’ practice of confident contortion of cultural signifiers and his distinct choice to bend and reshape the canvas shoe. Through an extension of the tongue and squaring of the toe, a new take on the silhouette emerges in both a Hi and Ox cut. The black and white canvas colorways mirror Converse’s most classic icon, while merging Owen’s stark universe of modernist minimalism and contemporary luxury.

Owens has always held a distinct connection with Converse, and it is this connection first led Owens to introduce the DRKSHDW SS14 Ramones, a subversive interpretation of the Chuck Taylor All Star – a classic signifier of culture and Converse’s first basketball shoe.

The Converse x DRKSHDW TurboDrk Chuck 70 campaign comes to life with multi-disciplinary brand, Fecal Matter, comprised of duo Steven Raj and Hannah Rose who strive to create and express uncensored ideas.
