  • You’ve heard his wise words on Joyce.com and now you have the chance to walk into his world.

Joyce would like to invite you to visit the Raf Simons special corner. Here you will discover his unconventional approach to menswear in his latest spring summer 2014 collection.

During men’s Paris fashion week, Simons presented his collection alongside connoisseurs of modern art. Construction by Jean Prouvé and mobiles by Alexander Calder provided the scenery and framework of the show, which was hosted in the world-renowned Gagosian Gallery, just outside Paris. The artists’ work influenced Simons’ design process, which prompted him to explore the notions of branding and consumption. Simons wanted to emphasize that everything is gravitating to the more artificial.

The Raf Simons corner features some of the key pieces from the spring summer fashion show. Simons pushes the boundaries of mens’ casual wear by experimenting with the silhouette: A-lined T-shirts and bodysuits in geometrical graphics, floral embroidery and prints. Boxy long tops are teamed with tailored shorts and jackets to create a layered and free-spirited look for an otherwise traditional formal suiting. As for accessories, snakeskin leather is treated and coated with acid colour, a clever (and daring) contrast of the synthetic and natural materials.

Raf Simons Special Corner is located at Joyce Central.
