Since its 1849 inception in Paris by Pauline Moynat, a visionary and the only woman trunk-maker of her time, the House has been known for its creations that are simultaneously innovative and timeless. As a pioneer in the automobile adventure, MOYNAT specialized in custom-made trunks that matched the colour and fitted the contours of the car body.

With numerous technical innovations such as making trunks lighter and waterproof, the house soon became synonymous with high-end automobile and travel accessories. The most iconic of these being the Limousine trunk, patented in 1902 and never to be replicated, the concave base fitted perfectly to the rounded roof of the automobile. Today the brand has evolved to adapt their leather ‘Objets de Voyage’ for a more contemporary, yet equally discerning customer.

The Limousine 45 bag, created by MOYNAT’s Artistic Director Ramesh Nair, is a contemporary and playful take on the iconic Limousine trunk. The sensual curved top neatly embraces the contours of the body, just as the lines of the Limousine trunk followed the line of the car roof.

Beautifully crafted from supple Taurillon Gex leather, the highly desirable Limousine 45 will be available in 8 colours. The turn-lock closure draws on the engineering achievements for which MOYNAT is well known, allowing the deceptively compact size to reveal a generous interior. The series of bags is accompanied by ‘Automobile’ mosaic detailed leather bag tags and key chains.

The global launch of the Limousine 45 and mosaic accessories takes place exclusively at JOYCE Central.
