The adept Indian designer has conceived a collection of fun-filled lifestyle products, from bedding to bracelets to lighting to notebooks – all to be displayed at Joyce Shanghai and Joyce Hong Kong, later this month. The collection are the essentials for the home of the modern-minded and well-travelled neo-hippie.
Arora is much acclaimed for his fantasy-inspired design, which is generally infused with traditional craftsmanship. It’s of no exception that this lifestyle compilation resonates with his autumn Winter 2014 ready-to-wear collection. Think candy tribe of sweet-toothed nomads and gummy bear gypsies. Accessories are made with colourful Swarvoski crystals, picture frames are decorated with intricate embroidery, patterns on textiles and ceramics in hybrid form of cartoon and traditional Indian motifs. Every item bursts out bright neon colours with an infectious happy mood.
The Manish Arora pop up stores will respectively open at Joyce Shanghai iAPM on the 15 August and at Joyce Lee Gardens, Hong Kong on the 18 August.
