JOYCE is pleased to introduce exclusive styles from footwear brand Louis Leeman to Hong Kong’s most stylish gentlemen.
Louis Leeman is a modern dandy who is passionate about traditional craftsmanship and tailoring. Born and raised in the Netherlands, he studied in Florence and Milan before relocating to Paris with his Florentine wife Erica Pelosini. When the duo began work on a collaboration for Vogue they noticed a void in the men’s footwear market for “classy yet zesty” styles. This idea transformed into a men’s footwear brand that combines European creativity, Tuscan quality and English dandyism.
JOYCE is happy to introduce Louis Leeman’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection to Hong Kong, including several worldwide exclusive styles. Inspired by Spanish matadors, the collection features patent leather slippers with handcrafted metal capped-toe. Each pair is individually hand dyed in shades of purple and blue. Technology meets fashion in a pair of snakeskin slippers that are made using a state-of-the-art laser cutting technique. Two Hi-Top Sneakers also finished in hand dyed purple and blue patent leather and finished with a gold handcrafted capped-toe.
“The traditional matador’s costume is grandly described due to the many colours used to complete it. All the designs are based on the footwear actually worn by matadors and mix the elegant with the masculine. Handmade metal accessories of traditional shoe styles are lovingly transformed into modern icons. There are also soft moccasins in different colours and lots of slippers in rich hues of pony skin,” says Leeman.
Modern touches are also evident in details like studs and metal toe-caps on colourful pony skin and suede. Some styles are hand embroidered in Seville, where Matadors’ costumes are made.
The Louis Leeman Spring Summer 2013 collection embodies tradition and craftsmanship with modern aesthetics making it the perfect footwear for the bohemian dandy.
The Louis Leeman Spring Summer 2013 collection is now available in JOYCE Central.
