LOEWE SUMMER CAPSULE FEATURES DESIGNS INSPIRED BY ICONIC 70s BOUTIQUE PAULA’S IBIZA, EXCLUSIVELY AT JOYCE
This Spring / Summer season, JOYCE presents a vibrant tropical theme, featuring a special collaboration between LOEWE and iconic boutique and 70s cult phenomenon Paula’s Ibiza. Conceived by LOEWE Creative Director Jonathan Anderson, who first encountered Paula’s on childhood trips to the Balearic Island. The collaboration features original prints provided by Armin Heinemann, Paula’s German-born artist co-founder.
The collection attempts to distill the essence of bohemian Ibiza with playful, nature-inspired floral prints. The result is a colourful offering reflects the whimsical designs and extravagant interiors of the boutique that was once the epicentre of Ibizan style and artistic glamour. Also represented is Paula’s cult following: an eclectic mix of locals, aristocrats, artists and intellectuals as well as celebrity clients and friends Donna Summer, Freddie Mercury and fashion royalty Valentino.
Archive prints have been adapted and updated by the LOEWE atelier who have sought to combine the essential qualities behind Paula’s success —harmony, exuberance and freedom— with LOEWE’s own core values —functionality, modernity, and superior craftsmanship. The collection consists of one-of-a-kind tops, skirts and dresses and accessories all featuring Paula’s characteristic bonanza of musicians, birds and flowers. Also included are Summer island life wardrobe essentials including towels and espadrilles.
The LOEWE x Paula’s Ibiza Summer Capsule will be available at JOYCE Central store from 4 May 2017.
