When fashion eccentric and style icon Anna Dello Russo was spotted wearing a giant red cherry headpiece on several occasions during fashion week, it immediately caused a fashion storm. Piers Atkinson is the man behind this now iconic headband which embodies summer’s fruity trend. Since the SS10 collection this fun style has now become one of the milliner’s signatures, and has reappeared in gold and black versions.
“Hats are decorative. They are like little sculptures, little crowns; theyare all about showing off in a very celebratory way!”
We are pleased to announce that Piers Atkinson has created cherry headbands in 6 special colours, exclusively for JOYCE.com, in colours including baby blue, pink, lilac, orange, yellow and one-of-a-kind red and black glitter.
When asked about his theatrical designs, Atkinson says: “Hats are decorative. They are like little sculptures, little crowns; theyare all about showing off in a very celebratory way!”
Indeed, there is no excuse not to put a cherry on top this summer.
