We are pleased to announce the opening of JOYCE The Lee Gardens, which offers an array of emerging talents along with modern contemporary labels for fashion-forward customers. We would like to introduce some of JOYCE’s exclusive brands with their AW11 highlight pieces.
Maiko Kurogouchi is a graduate of Tokyo Bunka Fashion Collage. Kurogouchi launched her own lable, Mame. Her concept is to create “combat dress for modern society”, a powerful and graceful pursuit that a woman can wear and let their own consciousness sublimate to a higher position.
Working with classic casual silhouettes, Central St. Martin’s MA graduate Christopher Shannon infuses his looks with fabrics inspired from his ongoing interest in photojournalism and photographers such as Pieter Hugoand Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen. Sportswear is the focus of the collection – old track tops that ended up in landfill sites are worn by tribes alongside hand crafted, traditional garments.
Yasuko Furuta launched Toga and its AW11 menswear collection is inspired by the 1950s. The silhouettes are a mix of classic and contemporary, with cropped jackets paired with mid- waist trousers. It’s a modern approach on daily style using dressy materials such as jacquard silk and mohair.
LULU & CO.
The newly expanded and diversified collection sees Fashion East designers, past and present contributing, as well as Lulu Kennedy’s friends from the fields of art and design. These include contemporary art world stars Tim Noble as well as internationally acclaimed fashion photographer Alasdair McLellan.
