  • DSQUARED2 designers - and twin brothers Dan and Dean Caten, celebrated the opening of the DSQUARED2’s new store with some poolside frolics, and brought their irreverent yet sexy take on fashion to Hong Kong.

Hong Kong fashionistas first experienced the twins’ lifestyle at the 1,000 square foot boutique at ifc mall Central, which they described as “a taste of home, where the Canadian woods meet Italian design”. Here, the fashionistas discovered the latest spring summer 2014 collection, which the design duo revisited the idyllic island beaches of the 1950s as their reference point.

To resonate with the Milan fashion show and collection, Joyce transformed an outdoor swimming pool into a tropical glamorous island. Dean and Dan plus the guests were transported from the urban concrete jungle to a magical getaway. Colourful cocktails, vibrant music and some great dance moves by the poolside all complimented the island glamour with a carefree spirit. Feminine couture shapes including bathing suit style cocktail dresses with hiked hemlines and hourglass curves were shown in conjunction with longer skirts and dresses puffed up with tulle layers and balloon hems. The men kept their cool in cropped and wide silhouettes updated with sporty details. The fabrics are lightweight and fluid with chambray denim, delicate cottons and fine double-sided waterproof gum materials. The twins showed Hong Kong the new definition of summer glamour.
