• Although it is still scorching outside, JOYCE has already picked our favourites from the AW12 collections so you can start planning next season’s wardrobe. Prints, embellishments colour blocking and intricate details help you sail through the vibrant summer and transition into a new look for autumn.

Mary Katrantzou mixes monotone prints with voluminous folds, while Toga adds fur onto graphic prints, transforming summer staple elements into winter essentials. Even Juun J cannot resist having fun with his simple yet dramatic collage print batwing top.

And just because it’s autumn, it doesn’t mean that we have to succumb to the dark. Oscar De La Renta uses delicate embellishments on a wool shift dress in sky blue for a light look. For his last collection at Jil Sander, Raf Simons proposed soft pink knitwear and red lace with print intermixed with soft leather for women. Guys can have fun with the yellow and camel jumper featuring a quirky dinosaur print. Our new darling Victoria Beckham creates a forest green body hugging dress with cleverly placed black panels to accentuate a woman’s curves. Even goth prince Rick Owens ditches the black in favour of a buttery caramel tone for his signature leather and jersey.

Black and white also plays an important role in the autumn/winter wardrobe. Sacai’s black knitted dress features transparent white pleats while Raf Simons’ pony coat is worn over a classic white shirt. Damir Doma funks up a classic tweed jacket with a fur collar. The juxtaposition of contrasting textures makes this classic combo more graphic than ever.
