  • Tommy O’Gara’s new company and factory theLIGHT Co. Ltd. is launching a new project: the revolutionary eyewear brand, Native Sons, launches at JOYCE in Hong Kong.
    American-born Tommy O is based in Japan and has been designing everything from accessories to interior. Always on the lookout for innovative materials and skills, he teamed up with Shinsuke Takizawa to create a brand new eyewear brand called Native Sons. Created under the careful eye of Hiroaki Kobayashi Craftsman and manufacturing manager of theLIGHT, a NEW INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION is born, designers working directly with factory craftsmen and engineers, nothing is lost in translation.
    Inspired by the Post-WWII Industrial Revolution, the design duo created a collection featuring simple hand-crafted details. Using only the best materials available, the styles are designed to last a lifetime.
    All acetates are cellulose-based (plant) with original diamond-tooled core wire while the (custom arrow shaped) hinge design/construction uses old school star-nut configuration making each frame extra secure. Metal frames are bold, look heavy but are incredibly light, made with high-grade titanium with an antique finishing. All designs are hand-drawn and 100% original.
    Native Sons eyewear and accessories is available at JOYCE Central and Pacific Place in Hong Kong, with limited distribution at hip boutiques including Colette in Paris and Dover Street Market in London & Ginza.
