Nathalie Croquet and Daniel Schweizer are the creative minds behind SPOOF2.
This art project features fourteen individually framed images that re-enact contemporary iconic fashion campaigns in which Nathalie, a veteran fashion editor acts as both the model and stylist. Nathalie poses in the exact same ad scenarios, but given her ‘every woman’ stature the photographs evoke a completely different reaction.
This performance questions, with a twist of humour, the attitudes of models, the rules of beauty in fashion, and gives us an inside view on how Nathalie sees her rapidly changing profession.
Daniel Schweizer, an internationally renowned advertising photographer and director, photographed the previous 2015 SPOOF project, which garnered an unexpected wave of media attention from outlets around the world.
To quote Another Magazine from Dec, 2015: “Nathalie Croquet's spoofs of fashion's biggest advertising campaigns were one of the best things that happened this year…”
The team invited Emmaus to join their new adventure, SPOOF 2. Emmaus, a non-denominational charity organization helping those in need, has access to a large amount of recycled clothing and picture frames. The clothing will be featured on the model, Nathalie, and the frames will be used to showcase the photographs.
