‘In my work I care about the inner theatre of individuals. I am interested in the whole spectrum of our unique imperfection. I try to give the non-visible of our inner life visibility.
This comes up to the interface of artworks with different medias. My main technique is drawing, but also sculptural installation and photography have their place in my circle of expressing my themes.
The central object in my works is the human body, as protagonist, as a tool, in fragments or new assembled. I don't create a picture of reality; I try to find a frame for the psychologic dimension.
The relations among individuals and between individuals and society driven by norms, traditions, codes and regulations are my scope of material’ Maike Freess
