During 40 years of collaboration between two designers, Marithé & François Girbaud have brought a new approach to popular and industrial fashion with a base of industrial work clothes. They are leaders in a diverse movement and their influence on the textile market leaves nothing to prove: the cowboy phenomenon of the 60’s, sportswear which evolved into men’s fashion in the mid 70’s, leaders in the research of fabrics in the 80’s, visionaries in the 90’s with the SPORCITY concept and their philosophy BE becoming INSIDE to get closer to the new millennium through a new elegance, created a casual modern couture.
For the past 19 years, this Festival has taken place in Dinard. Created by its President, Dominique Damien Réhel for the AMCS association, the festival welcomes twelve new talents in the fashion industry: menswear, womenswear and lingerie. The “Festival International des Jeunes Créateurs de Dinard” has become a place of reference. A round table devoted to sustainable development and ethical fashion, reunited participants, industrialists and tradesmen from the Brittany region in the Dinard Town hall. The Jury, chaired by the designers Marithé Bachellerie + François Girbaud, was composed of international leaders in the fashion and textile industries.
In front of the biggest actors in these sectors, twelve designers from different horizons presented energy and sensibility. During that weekend, these young new talents, on the lookout for new trends and ways to realize their creations, leaned on the advice, support and help of some of the biggest professionals in the industry, who will follow them in their evolution.
